An Earlsmere service

Your points are only as good as your magnitudes.

The HSE advise that manufacturer-quoted vibration values are typically measured under controlled conditions and often understate real-world use — and a tool's magnitude climbs as it wears. Earlsmere, the team behind Toolminder, measure the machines you actually run, where you run them, so every point Toolminder counts starts from a real number.

Why measured figures

Tools get louder as they age.

A vibration figure is not a fixed property of a tool. Worn bearings, damaged or unbalanced attachments and hard use all push real vibration levels above the number in the brochure, which means an exposure calculation built on the original figure quietly understates the dose your operators actually receive.

Measuring the machines you run today closes that gap, and re-measuring as tools age and are serviced keeps it closed. Under the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005, employers must assess and monitor exposure and reliable monitoring starts with a reliable magnitude for every tool.

Straight into Toolminder

Measured figures, live in your exposure data.

Each tested tool gets its own measured magnitude on its asset record, so Toolminder's HAV monitoring computes exposure points from real data rather than brochure values. See what a magnitude means in practice with the free HAV calculator, or read how the points system works.

The testing itself

On site, on your tools, by Earlsmere.

Hand-arm vibration, whole-body vibration and noise-at-work testing to BS EN ISO 5349, measured on the machines you actually run — with a full written report, prioritised recommendations, and a durable tag on every tested tool showing points per minute. The same tag a Toolminder scan reads to start the clock. Full scope and booking live on the dedicated testing site.
